how
Dywilan rugs are made
Dywilan wool carpets and runners are machine-woven using the widely utilized face-to-face method on Wilton-type looms. This method allows us to produce both traditional and modern carpets with the most interesting designs.
Carpets in the face-to-face system are produced using the double cloth technique, where layers are connected by an additional warp, which is a yarn forming the pile. This creates two carpets simultaneously - the upper and lower - which are separated by cutting the pile along the fabric.
The only limitation of the face-to-face method is the inability to create carpets with logos, inscriptions, and other elements where the direction of the pattern matters, such as a national emblem, because one carpet is a mirrored reflection of the other.
